Wanna say with confidence this path is right
I do not want to look back, I want no regret
Just keep walking, keep walking, keep walking
Yet I still don't feel confident in my decision
Why am I standing in this road,
Is this path really destined for me,
Would my dreams come true at the end of this road,
What am I really dreaming for
Who is this searching really for
Will I finally smile when I reach the goal

The song’s message always felt fitting everytime you have a long ride. You look out the window and watch the pine trees along the road sped out of my sight one after the other. The quiet moments inside the van and the passing pines provided the atmosphere to dwell on your own thoughts. The long ride provided the unneeded time for self reflection and assessment on the decisions you made in the past.
Did you really make the right choice? Do you have any regrets? Why do you feel like you have been left behind? What do you really want? Are you happy? So many questions. Clearly, your mind considered these more worthy of time instead of appreciating the river flowing below or the rice terraces across. Your thoughts would fall deeper and deeper until anxiety and self-loathing would envelope you throughout the whole ride.
Have you ever had that dream wherein you were falling, the place pitch-black and you have no idea how far or how deep you would fall? That’s what it felt like, except this time you’re awake, and so many thoughts come flooding in you have no idea when it would stop. But eventually the thoughts would stop when the ride may have passed over a road hump, or when it is already the end of the ride.
It would have been much easier to brush off the thoughts when you were at home, reading or watching. But when you are stuck inside a moving van, you are left to wonder if the other passengers have the same internal struggles as you do.
Looking back, you could have thought differently.
You have a destination. You are on the road going somewhere, either meeting you friends or family. Appreciate that at the end of your ride, you will be seeing them and you would enjoy the time with them.
You are alive. For as long as you are alive, that means so much rather than dwelling on what could have been. Being alive means you have the time to accomplish whatever you may have set out for yourself.
You have the best natural exhibit. The various mountains and terraces are not that easy to come by especially when you go back to the city. Enjoy viewing the greenery.
Sometimes, it’s these simple things that you forget that you don’t realize there are more to be thankful for than all your worries combined.
